“She looked at me, then pinned her ears back and charged”: 13-year-old boy cornered by an aggressive stray is saved by his loyal dog digbie in a backyard showdown

Being a pupper pawrent is a tough gig, it has to be said. You spend so much time tricking your pupper into not going to the toilet in your home. So you have to take them outside, where, you guessed it, you have to protect them from even more things. Cars, cats, other people and other dogs are just some of the myriad of dangers that exist in the outside world.

And while your pup is growing up, they have no idea what is safe and what might hurt them so it is all on you to make sure that they are cared for. But what happens when you get into a situation with a big dog that you as a pawrent can no longer handle? That is the question that was bravely answered by this pawrent's brave doggo who stepped up to the plate and made sure that it was clear he would do just as much, if not more, to make sure that his protective pawrent would also have the protection they so desperately needed.

  • Oh jheez this is never a good sign. Any large dog who is wandering a park on their own with their owner out of sight is either a dog child to a neglectful owner who does not care what kind of trouble their doggo gets into. Or this is a doggo who has broken free of the shackles of home. Either way, it is a loose cannon.

  • Wow, what an act of courage and heroism. This pawrent will not soon furget the moment his darling doggo risked her life to protect his. And what a turn of events, no less. Though it should be said that the fact that the aggressor felt the need to protect their patch in the park only goes to show how much of a horrible home life they have. Which is sad in its own way.

    I managed to open the back door and Digby followed close behind. As soon as I shut it the German Shepard was attacking the gate trying to get at us.

    kippy3267 German shepards can be nice, but when they're mean. They are MEAN. Also running from one isn't a good idea. I have a big chunk out of my ass (literally) from trying to get away from an untrained one. I don't blame the dog I blame the people but, if that dog comes near me again one of us isn't going to make it. People made that poor dog dangerous

    [deleted] My old sheltie, Penny, was attacked on multiple occasions by a large German Shepherd at the condo my famiy was renting. That fuking dog was just out there, in the dark, without his owner etc. and ambushed both me and Penny and my mom and Penny within the same week.

    Squall_89 German Shepherds are amazing and intelligent dogs. Like humans, they can get aggressive without proper training. Seems your family taught yours right, glad your buddy was there for you.
